Cascina delle Rose Barbaresco Rio Sordo 2021
£100.00
Rio Sordo vineyards have a higher percentage of clay. The presence of clay leads to an expression of Nebbiolo with more muscular (a characteristic commonly attributed to wines grown on clay soils) and earthy characteristics.
It's impossible not to be excited by this wine. Showing more structure and grit compared to the others in this portfolio, the Cascina delle Rose 2021 Barbaresco Rio Sordo boasts etched mineral notes that recall pencil shavings or crushed rock. Those frame a pretty core of delicate berry, wild cherry and blue flower. The effect is ample, elegant and streamlined. The wine finishes with a fine, silky texture. This is a 3,800-bottle release. - Monica Larner, RP 96 points.
