Lieu Dit Winery will in time, become a cult classic. They only grow Loire Valley varietals due to a specific microclimate in Santa Ynez and marine based soils simlar to the Valley. Ultimately, this helps produce expressive wines.
The Sanc Soufre (meaning without sulphite) Cabernet Franc epitomises the winery's ethos of letting the grapes and microclimate speak for itself. A tremendously juicy yet savoury wine is characteristically 'cool climate', refreshing compared to many over extracted and less appealing examples. The Sans Soufre is a favourite of ours and can be enjoyed chilled because of it's natural freshness. The comparisons with typical Anjou wines are striking!
