Rich and opulent Chassagne 1er Cru
In order to sucessfully grasp the multitude of different vineyards and terrois in Chassagne-Montrachet, there is perhaps no better domaine to taste through than Jean-Noel Gagnard. Slowly increasing the numbers of sites over time has allowed for gradual progression in the portfolio, whilst maintaining the consistenly meticulous winemaking. All wines are aged in French oak for 18 months prior to release, manifesting themselves precisely and accurately to the region in a way that is very rare. Chassagne's generally are richer, and possess a more full palate than their counterparts Puligny and Meursault, but they are equally beautiful and elegant.
