Innovative, visionary biodynamic, savoury dry red wine
Elisabetta Foradoi took over her estate rather suddenly in 1984, aged just 20. Situated in the heart of Trentino Alto-Adige, a picturesque valley at the foothills of the Dolamites, the skys often loom in darkness, but are blessed with a wonderful spectrum of pink evenings. In search for true expression of unique terroir, and indeed a grape held in the esteem of only being an Italian 'table wine', Foradori begun converting to biodynamic practices in 2001, certified in 2009.
Ultimately, the way of conscious farming did wonders for the Teroldego grape, aged in concrete amphorae. The resulting wine 'Sgarzon', a single vineyard example is intense, beauitifully savoury and well capable of developing in the bottle over a ten year period.
