The original 'Garage Wine'

This, unofficial 'third wine' of top St Emilion proprietor Cheval Blanc is an exceptional classic. Featuring the lingering, iconic Right Bank acidity, the wine is a perfect expression. Before there was Napa Cult wine, there was Bordeaux Garage Wine, a response from 'microchâteau' to Bordeaux wines in the 1990s being made not to reflect terroir, but reflect the international palate. Garage wines are true to their roots, showcasing phenomenal terroir, ageing potential and class. Le Pin, Valandraud (which controversially recieved more acclaim than Petrus in 1995!) and Quinault l'Enclos are but a few to epitomise the garage wine style.
